What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy?

BCST is a gentle, non-invasive form of body work that facilitates our natural ability to heal ourselves. All animals possess an innate capacity to self-regulate after stressful events, but in our increasingly fast-paced lifestyles we often don’t give ourselves the time or space to de-stress. BCST can guide our nervous systems back to a place of optimal presence and functionality, allowing us to release past traumas, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, and restoring the health that exists in us.

What happens during a session?

Sessions are generally 45 minutes long. The client relaxes comfortably on their back, fully clothed, on a massage table. The practitioner may place their hands lightly anywhere on the body depending on what is being worked on, but the ankles, sacrum, and head are typical areas of contact. Using compassionate presence and subtle perception, the practitioner detects blockages and inconsistencies in the pulse of the body’s cerebrospinal fluid, inviting the nervous system to access its innate healing and a state of calm balance. Who can benefit from BCST?

Anybody can and will benefit, because we’ve all got unresolved stress and trauma. If you’ve ever been in a car accident, broken a bone, experienced childhood trauma, have chronic pain or inflammation, experience digestive issues, TMJ pain, insomnia, or any kind of recurrent emotional or physical illness, craniosacral therapy may be a helpful step toward healing.
